Tracking debt without linking your bank

Dang! Payoff is manual-entry by design. You type in what you owe and log payments as you make them. There is no bank connection, no credential sharing, and no aggregator in the middle — not as an option you switch off, but because the feature does not exist.

The trade-off is real and worth stating plainly: you have to enter payments yourself. In exchange, nothing you bank with is ever handed to us or to anybody else.

What we actually store

The debts and payments you type, and the plan you save. If you create an account, that data is stored on our servers so it can reach your other devices — it is not confined to your phone or your browser, and we will not claim otherwise.

What manual entry costs you

Accuracy is on you. An app wired into your accounts knows about a payment the moment it clears; this knows when you tell it. For a payoff plan — a single number, checked monthly — that turns out to be enough for most people, but it is a genuine cost and you should decide with it in view.

What it buys you

No credential sharing, no read access to your transactions, and nothing to revoke later. It also means the app cannot quietly become a recommendation engine for financial products, because it does not know what you spend on.
