Corrections and source policy

If something on this site is wrong, email hello@dangpayoff.com and we will correct it. If the error was material — a number, a rate, a legal or product claim — we will say on the page that it was corrected and when.

This page also states what we will and will not publish, so you can hold us to it.

Where our claims come from

For anything about financial rules, we use statutes, regulators, agencies and issuer documentation ahead of anything else; then peer-reviewed research; then recognised financial and consumer institutions; then reputable editorial explanation. Another calculator's blog is not an authority for a financial rule and we do not cite such a source as if it were.

Every source we cite is linked, named, and was reachable when we published. Sources appear on the page that makes the claim, not in a general bibliography.

Where our numbers come from

Every payoff figure is produced by the payoff engine described on the methodology page — not typed in, not estimated, and not carried over from an older version of a page. If a number here cannot be reproduced by entering the same inputs into the calculator on the same page, that is a defect and we want to hear about it.

What we will not publish

Personalised financial advice. Guarantees about outcomes. A claim that a payoff date is exact. A claim that all minimum-payment formulas are the same, that all debts amortise the same way, or that every extra dollar goes to principal. Anything describing this product as credit counselling, debt relief, debt management or debt settlement. A rating or review we did not receive. A feature or platform that is not actually available.

Review dates

Every page carries the date it was last reviewed. A review date means a person checked the claims and the sources on that date — not that the page changed.

Dang! Payoff is a manual-entry debt payoff planner and tracker from Dang Apps LLC. It is not a lender, credit counselling agency, debt-relief, debt-management or debt-settlement service, and nothing here is financial, legal or tax advice or a recommendation about your situation. Your issuer’s or lender’s own terms govern your account.
